The 2-source rule

Any fact you'll act on gets confirmed somewhere AI didn't write.

The lesson

The verification habit that makes everything else on this site safe: what counts as a real second source, how to verify in under a minute, and the traffic light — 🟢 drafts and brainstorms, 🟡 checkable summaries, 🔴 facts, figures, and anything with consequences.

The picture to keep

The traffic light: 🟢 brainstorms/drafts (use freely) · 🟡 summaries (skim the original) · 🔴 facts, numbers, citations, decisions (verify before acting). Poster version available for download.

Try it — 60 seconds

Take the last factual claim AI gave you. Set a 60-second timer and verify it: official site, primary source, or a phone call. That's the whole habit.

Copy it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini — whichever you already use. Fill in the brackets with your real life.

Watch out

"I asked the AI twice" is not two sources. The second source must be somewhere AI didn't write.
